Translation Pricing

For your convenience, this calculator helps you estimate how much your translation will cost. You simply enter the amount of pages (250 words) you wish to translate, and check the box if you wish to have it certified as a sworn translation, which has an additional fee of 2 EUR for the stamp duty.

If your translation is more advanced (i.e. medical, legal, accounting), or you only wish to translate digital content, and add more services, such as express delivery, additional copies or sworn court statements, you can find our advanced translation calculator below.

Please keep in mind that the Translation Cost Estimation Calculator does not issue an official translation cost estimation and the result is in no way binding to the final invoice amount, which will be issued upon the completion of the translation. To receive a more accurate cost estimation, you can submit the document to the team via our online form or email at info@metafrastis.com.cy. Once the team has reviewed it, they will issue a free cost estimation, as well as an estimated delivery date.

Advanced Translation Cost Estimation

This is probably the most comprehensive and all-inclusive translation cost calculator in Cyprus, based on the guidelines issued by the Press and Information Office of Cyprus to help you calculate the cost of your translation project.

Word Count

The amount of words a document has is the most important aspect in determining the price of the translation. The calculation is 0.072 EUR per word or 18.00 EUR per page

Purpose

The purpose of the translation is important in determining the cost of the translation, as well as the format.

Sworn Translation

According to Law N. 45(I)/2019, which provides for the registration and regulation of the services of the sworn translator in the Republic of Cyprus, a sworn translation or ορκωτή μετάφραση (orkoti metafrasi), is the valid and accurate translation of a written text or document from a foreign language into the Greek language or from Greek to a foreign language. A sworn translation includes a 2 EUR stamp duty, which is calculated if you check the box.

Administrative Use Abroad

Following the same principle as a Sworn Translation, any document intended for administrative use abroad must bear the stamp and seal of a sworn translation and therefore includes a 2 EUR stamp duty.

Online/Digital Translation

Any online or digital content translation, that does not require a printed copy, a stamp and seal, or even a certification, falls under this category.

Personal Use

Similarly, if you are only intending to use the translation for your own personal records and do not require a certification, a stamp and a seal, you can choose this category.

Specialised Translation

A specialised translation is a translation of a document that uses sector-specific vocabulary. Some of the sectors include legal documents, financial reports, accounting statements, medical reports, and University transcripts, among others. Since this category requires additional research, the translation charge start at 0.09 EUR per word.

A simple translation is a translation that does not require additional research and does not include sector-specific terminology. If you are having a hard time determining whether your translation falls under this category, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Additional Options
Urgency

Our team strives to provide you with your translation as soon as possible. However, if you wish for the team to expedite the translation, due to an upcoming court date or departure abroad, we offer the option of the express translation, at the rate of 2.00 EUR per page instead.

Additional Copies

If you wish for us to issue more than one (1) hard copy, a stamp fee of 2 EUR per additional hard copy is applied.

Sworn Court Statement

Since the application of Law N. 45(I)/2019, the requirement for a Sworn Court Statement has been eliminated, as the law governs Sworn Translators and ensures the authenticity of the documents. A Sworn Translator is not required to provide an additional Sworn Court Statement for any translation bearing their stamp and the seal of the Republic of Cyprus, however, some clients are still requiring it. We have therefore added it as an option, at an additional cost, which we do not recommend, as it is not required.

Why do I have to pay extra for a specialised translation?

A specialised translation is a translation that requires additional research on the vocabulary or a translation that contains specialised terms. This category is usually reserved for medical reports, legal documents, contracts, finance, accounting and many more.

The reason you are paying extra for a specialised translation is because it contains terms specific to the subject of the translation (i.e medicine, law, finance, etc) and therefore requires additional research from the translator to avoid ambiguities and deliver the message to the expert as clearly as possible.

For example, if your doctor in Germany has written a report on your operation in German, using terms that even a German native speaker would not know, requires the translator to perform extensive research in medical journals, dictionaries and other medical resources in German to be able to reproduce the report in Greek and convey the same, important message to your doctor in Cyprus, without any ambiguities.
